HVX
Well, it has been a long time coming. This week we were hit with our first HVX case. I have, throughout the years, had over 150+ hosta varieties, but this was our first exposure to HVX. It seems, for some reason, that Hosta Striptease (and its progeny) are especially susceptible to this virus.
Last night, we removed the plant from the area and sprayed the tools with a 50% bleach solution, to ensure no transfer of the root sap to its neighbors.
For more information on HVX, the Hosta Library (hostalibrary.org) is a great resource.
Happy gardening!
