Garden Walk Buffalo 2022: Part 2
Continuing Garden Walk Buffalo 2022...
Planter 'recipes' from the Ukraine house
Amazing window boxes were seen at multiple homes. Very inspiring for our yard next year.
A beautiful Hosta-centric garden with great mature trees and lots of shade.
Water features were also abundant. So many examples of incorporating water in the gardens were inspiring.
Beautiful Passion Flower in bloom. I didn't know that we could grow them here in our climate. Might have to watch for this one at the garden centres!
Who would have thought...more hostas! I think this one is Snake Eyes. This property had several lining their yard. Beautiful mature clumps.
Acanthus Mollis or Bear's Breeches. I had never seen one in bloom before. Very interesting and a nice change of texture in a shade garden...another one on the list!
One of the most impressive things we saw was the use of the wide center boulevards. One home owner told us that the neighbors all pitched in to create it and take turns maintaining it throughout the year. What a nice change from grass!
Crocosmia in the boulevard
More boulevard...
Many home owners had amazing front yard gardens and showed how nicely a grass lawn can be replaced with a beautiful garden. A really nice Agapanthus on display here.
This was one of my favorite gardens. The owners are very proud and loved to share information about where they obtained many of their ferns and other garden gems. The next couple of pics were from the same garden.
Amazing lily
Amazing sculpture!
I think the homeowner said this was a ribbon cactus bloom. Either way, stunning. At this home we also spoke to the owner about her hostas. She directed us to Murray's Hosta Farm in Orchard Park, NY, where we found a really rare hosta and also found our rain chain.
All in all, a great couple of days, and highly recommended for any garden lover.
