Order and Chaos

 

Nature has a way of letting you know who's really in charge.  This is our first autumn at our new home and we are quickly learning the 'benefits' of having a large Locust tree in our backyard.  Despite my best efforts to bring order to the landscape with my plant tags (hostas only), the Locust shedding of leaves has left our yard looking like a mottled golden carpet, with little yellow leaves layered in a thin veil across the whole landscape.

When I tried to use the leaf blower (new to that also), I just ended up in a tornado of yellow leaves.  I get it.  Time to sit back and enjoy the show.  :)
