Fall is for planting...and planning

I wonder what the neighbors think, as I stalk my yard; notebook, pencil and tape measure in hand, while I capture the dimensions of the front garden space.  It has been a while since I have had a yard deserving of a 25ft tape measure, so yesterday was a fun exercise, reminding me of the possibilities that planning a garden brings.
