Blank slate
A blank slate in the garden can pose the same challenges to a gardener as a blank page to a writer. Plans can be made, but sometimes they do not work out.
This weekend, Kerri and I travelled to see one of my garden retailer mainstays over the years (Whistling Gardens), but his stock was very low, as gardening was one of the industries that, pardon the pun, bloomed over the pandemic. We came home with an empty car, but a fun road trip nonetheless.
So plans change. Now we are looking at filling in the space with some of Kerri's favourite; ornamental grasses. Like most things in life, having a good partner can help fill in your blank spaces.
